Richard is developing a practice in civil litigation. He has
appeared in the courts and the Weathertight Homes Tribunal, both
un-led and as junior counsel. He has significant experience in
leaky home issues and with alternative dispute resolution
procedures such as mediation. As well as first instance proceedings
Richard has been involved in civil appeals.
Clients value Richard's knowledge of civil procedure and his
ability to provide succinct explanations of legal concepts.
Richard joined Martelli McKegg in November 2011 after three
years at Hayden Tate Lawyers. Prior to that he was employed as a
junior barrister. He completed his law degree in 2006 and was
awarded a senior prize in law by Auckland University. While at
university Richard participated in a student exchange to the law
school of the University of British Columbia in Vancouver.
