Tara Hurley is an associate who helps Martelli McKegg's clients
with legal advice on trusts and relationship property. She has
particular expertise in drafting separation and pre-nuptial
agreements that comply with Section 21 of the Property
Relationships Act. These agreements allow married and de facto
partners to contract out of the provisions of the Act. Tara
also assists clients with advice on trust structures and asset
preservation.
Tara has several clients from the music and entertainment
industries who value her clear thinking and discretion.
Tara joined Martelli McKegg, originally as a property and trust
lawyer, in 2007. She has an LLB from the University of Otago and
was admitted in 2002. Tara has also worked for Lovells in
London where she acted for three of Lovells' main corporate clients
in landlord and tenant disputes.
