A new Limitation Bill is scheduled to come into force on New Year’s Day 2011.
This may affect the amount of time you have to bring a case to court. While the old 6 year limit remains the standard, new exceptions could give you as many as 15 years to bring a claim in some circumstances.
The Act also clarifies when a limitation defence can be made
out. This should save time and costs for those people dealing with
these issues.
