Aimee is a senior solicitor in the litigation team and works
closely with Geoff
Hardy and the other litigation partners. She provides
litigation services and advice on a range of commercial matters.
Aimee has a particular focus on employment and construction
law.
Unit Titles and Building law
Prior to joining Martelli McKegg, Aimee spent over three years
working as a litigation solicitor in a well regarded boutique law
firm. She provided advice and litigation services to bodies
corporate on a variety of matters including body corporate
governance, dispute resolution, weathertightness issues, building
remediation and compliance as well as enforcement of body corporate
rules.
As part of her role, Aimee regularly dealt with experts in the
building and construction fields to commission reports or prepare
affidavit evidence in support or defence of litigation claims.
Employment law
Aimee works alongside Claire Mansell
providing advice to employers on a range of matters including
redundancies, personal grievances, dismissals and compliance
issues.
Insolvency law
Aimee has practiced insolvency law for three years. She has
acted as counsel for large national retailers and suppliers,
financial service providers and council-controlled organisations.
She regularly appeared in the District and High Courts on matters
including bankruptcy and liquidation proceedings.
Aimee also provided advice on terms of trade and supply
contracts to minimise credit exposure and ensure that clients were
well positioned in the event of the inevitable defaults which arise
in the course of business.
Background
Aimee was born and raised in Auckland. On finishing school, she
left New Zealand on an extended OE travelling through Asia and
Europe before returning, four years later, to settle into the study
of Law and Philosophy at Auckland University. She graduated in 2009
with a BA/LLB and was admitted to the High Court of New Zealand in
2010.
