Tom has worked in the legal industry since 2001. He qualified as
a solicitor in England and Wales in 2009. Before joining Martelli
McKegg he worked for a firm in Yorkshire, England, where he
specialised in commercial and corporate matters. He is experienced
in dealing with a broad range of matters for business clients,
including:
- Acquisitions and Disposals - acting for individual and
corporate buyers and sellers in share sales and purchases and asset
sales and purchases; management buy-outs; corporate finance
transactions
- Corporate Advisory - dealing with company incorporations,
restructures and other share transactions; drafting shareholder
agreements and partnership agreements; providing company and
corporate advice
- Commercial Contracts - advising on, drafting and negotiating a
range of commercial contracts including sale of goods agreements,
terms and conditions, distribution agreements, agency agreements,
licence agreements, supply of services agreements
- Property (Landlord and Tenant) - drafting and negotiating
commercial leases and other commercial property documentation for
Landlord and Tenant and other parties
Tom moved to New Zealand in May 2017 and is undergoing the
process to join the New Zealand Law Society. He has taken and
passed four of the six parts of the New Zealand Law and Practice
Examination and is studying for the remaining two parts, which he
will take in 2018.
