Just got married? Congratulations -but your will may now be
void! It is simple to fix this, but if you don't, this will lead to
unnecessary delay and expense at a time which will already be
stressful for your family and new spouse.
Just separated?
Change your will quick or your estranged partner or spouse may
still take under your will! Many people think that the
dissolution of marriage or civil union will do this but it
doesn't. A new will should be signed to avoid "double
dipping".
This is particularly so where there is a protracted negotiation,
as you may be in a new relationship when you haven't sorted out the
earlier one.
