The leaky homes financial assistance package has been considered
by a parliamentary select committee and has passed its second
reading largely unchanged.
Importantly, the five year limit remains. Home-owners who
wish to use the scheme must apply within five years of it coming
into force. To comply, eligible home-owners need
only obtain an assessor's report from the Department of
Building and Housing.
If you think your home may be leaky and you wish to secure your
right to claim under the scheme, or your ability to take legal
action, Martelli McKegg can help you obtain an assessor's
report and get the ball rolling.
