The Meritas 2013 Annual Meeting is taking place in Vancouver on
24-26 April and Melissa Clark will be attending. The meeting
promises an excellent line up of speakers and an opportunity to
foster relationships with our international affiliates.
Martelli McKegg is the New Zealand member of Meritas, a highly
regarded global network of 180 independent commercial law firms
located in major cities throughout the world.
Membership of Meritas enables us to bring our clients many
benefits including access to competent legal resources in other
jurisdictions and specialty areas of practice, so that the needs of
our clients can be dealt with nearly anywhere.
The keynote speaker at the Annual Meeting is Joseph Caron who is
billed as having an extensive knowledge of Asia. Mr Caron is
the former Canadian Ambassador to both China and Japan as well as
the former High Commissioner to India. The title of his
speech is "Chinese Asia. Indian Asia. Modern Asia."
One of the break out sessions has been specifically designed for
the Meritas members from Asia and Australasia. It will focus
on enhancing interaction between the two regions for the benefit of
our clients doing business in those regions.
While in Vancouver, Melissa will also join our Australian
affiliates at an ANZAC Day service which has been organised by the
Canada, Australia and New Zealand Business Association. The
service will be held in Victory Park at 6pm on April 25.
